St. Cuthbert’s R.C. High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are committed to keeping our students safe, whether that be with us in school, online or out in the community. Our dedicated school based safeguarding team work with students and their families to provide universal support in the form of parenting support workshops, advice, signposting, onward referrals, meetings in school and home visits.

The school’s designated safeguarding officers are:

  • Mrs C Hunt - Designated Safeguarding Lead

  • Mrs A Beisty - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

  • Mrs L Kershaw – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Children’s Welfare Officer

  • Ms J Waft - Safeguarding Pastoral Manager

  • Mr M Lockett

  • Mr J Hardy

  • Miss L Machen

  • Mr J Wray

  • Mr D McLachlan

“The school’s work to keep students safe and secure is good. Students describe their school as very safe and say that there is always an adult they can talk to if they have a problem.”
