Over the weekend, a number of year 10 students completed their Duke of Edinburgh practice walk. On a blisteringly hot day, they managed to walk the 6 miles required and still had smiles on their faces when they finished. To achieve their Bronze Award, pupils need to be able to map-read, route-plan, navigate, cook and use their camp-craft skills in an unfamiliar area. This will be tested again during their overnight expedition in a few weeks’ time. Well done on a great practice run!
